On 19 August 2025, His Majesty, Oba (Engr) Sulaiman Adekunle Bamgbade, Olofin of Isheri Mole and Adimula of Awori Kingdoms, paid a courtesy visit to Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa (Rtd), Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The purpose of the visit was to establish closer collaboration with the agency to address drug abuse challenges within his kingdom.
His Majesty highlighted that Isheri Olofin Mole hosts the largest cattle market in southwestern Nigeria, known as the Isheri Kara Market. He expressed concern that the market has become a hotspot for drug dealers and emphasized the urgent need to address this issue. As part of the collaborative efforts, the monarch committed to providing land for the NDLEA to construct a barracks within the kingdom, further strengthening the partnership.
In response, the NDLEA Chairman thanked the royal father for his initiative and assured that the agency would act upon the information provided. He also pledged to seek approval for establishing an NDLEA presence in Isheri, recognizing its strategic position as a border town between Lagos and Ogun States.
Olofin Asholesa was accompanied on the visit by Chief Mohammed Ajibola Olagbaye, President of the Awori Welfare Association of Nigeria, and Chief Isiaka Rasaki, Ekerin of Ojodu Abiodun Kingdom.
