His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Sulaiman Adekunle Bamgbade – Ayodele III, the Olofin of Isheri and Adimula of Awori Kingdom, joined other eminent royal fathers across Nigeria at the 2025 National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) National Executive Council meeting held in Lagos.
The gathering, themed “The Traditional Institution: The Imperative of its Inclusion in the Effective and Efficient Governance in Nigeria,” brought together traditional leaders from across the federation, including:
•His Eminence, Alh. Dr. Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, MNI, Sultan of Sokoto and Chairman, NCTRN;
•His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, CFR, Ooni of Ife and Co-Chairman, NCTRN;
•as well as Chairmen of Traditional Rulers Councils from the 36 States and the FCT.
Also in attendance were Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State; Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum; and Governor Hope Uzodinma, Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum — whose presence underscores the recognition of the traditional institution as a vital partner in governance and development.

The Olofin commended the focus of this year’s meeting and emphasized the importance of continuous collaboration between traditional rulers and government in fostering peace, unity, and constitutional inclusion of traditional rulers in development across Nigeria.
